The Verizon XV6700 Pocket PC features the Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and Bluetooth wireless capabilities for text and email messaging. Once you create and set up an email account, you can check your email, compose, send, and delete messages, and delegate email to different folders. The email section of the Pocket PC is simple to access and straightforward to operate, although it has limited features. Use the slide-out QWERTY keyboard to write email messages.

Step 1

Create a new email account on the Verizon Pocket PC. Tap "Start" and then "Messaging." Tap "Menu," then "Tools" and "New Account." Type your email address using the slide-out QWERTY keyboard and then tap "Next." The auto configuration setting downloads appropriate server settings. Tap "Next."

Step 2

Type your display name, username and password. Tap "Save Password" if you want to save the password; if not, tap "Next." Select your account type and tap "Next." Under "Server Information," type your email address in both the "Incoming Mail" and "Outgoing Mail" boxes. Type the domain in the "Domain" box, which is in the "mail.domain.com" format. Tap "Finish."

Step 3

Read new email. Tap the envelope icon to check and read incoming email messages. You can also tap the "Spam" and "Sent" folders as well.

Step 4

Write and send a new email message. Tap "Messaging" under the "Start" menu, then tap "Menu" and "Switch accounts." Select your email account. Tap "New" at the bottom of the screen and enter the email address of the recipient using the slide-out keyboard. Compose your message, then tap "Send" at the bottom of the screen.

Step 5

Add an attachment to an email message. Before sending, tap "Menu" at the bottom the screen" and then "Insert." Tap "Picture," "Voice Note" or "File." Select the file.

Step 6

Update the address book with common email addresses. Tap "Menu" and tap "Add a Contact." Type the recipient's email address.

Step 7

Mark email messages to delete or send to the "Spam" folder. Tap the email message and tap "Delete" or "Spam."
