Samsung cell phones that have a screen that can display pictures also include a background picture referred to as "wallpaper" or a "screensaver." The background picture enables users to customize the Samsung phone according to their taste. However, before a picture can be used as a screensaver, it must meet specific requirements. You may need to modify a picture using Windows Paint application before using the picture as a Samsung phone screensaver.

Step 1

Click the "Start" button on the Windows 7 PC desktop and then click the "Search" box. Type "Paint" in the "Search" box and tap the "Enter" key. The "Paint" application window will appear.

Step 2

Click the "Paint" button located near the top of the "Paint" window and click "Open." Browse to the picture you wish to use as a screensaver for a Samsung cell phone and click on the picture and then tap the "Enter" key.

Step 3

Click the "Resize" item located in the "Image" group in the toolbar at the top of the "Paint" window. Click to clear the "Maintain aspect ratio" check box. Click the "Pixels" radio button.

Step 4

Reference the Samsung phone model number in the list located on the "Cartoonized: Samsung Cell Phone Screen Resolution" website (see Resources) and note the horizontal and vertical resolution requirements for the phone model.

Step 5

Type the horizontal picture pixel number required for the cell phone into the "Horizontal" box. Type the vertical picture pixel number required for the cell phone into the "Vertical" box. Click the "Paint" button and click "Save As" and then click the lower drop down box in the "Save As" window and click the ".jpg" option. Type a name for the picture in the "File name" box and click "Save."
