How to Make Your Banner With Your Own Picture for MySpace

by Kayla Lowe

MySpace is a social networking website that allows you to customize virtually every aspect of your profile, including your extended network banner. Some users don't like the generic, default extended network banner that appears at the top of their profiles. With the appropriate tool, you can make your banner with your own picture for MySpace and customize it exactly how you want it.

Step 1

Navigate to a MySpace banner generator (see References). Upload the picture that you want to use to make your banner by clicking on "Upload" and locating the picture on your computer's hard drive, or by copying and pasting the URL to where your picture is hosted on the Internet to the URL text box (if your picture is in an image hosting account such as Photobucket or Flickr).

Step 2

Select whether your want your picture to stretch to fill the banner box or whether you want it to be aligned in the center, left or right of the banner box.

Step 3

Place text on your banner by typing what you want to appear on your banner picture into the provided text boxes. Choose the font size, font face and font color for your text as well as the vertical and horizontal alignment for the text and whether or not you want it to have a border.

Step 4

Click the "Generate" button to generate the HTML for your banner, and then copy and paste that code into the "About Me" section of your MySpace profile. Access the "About Me" section by mousing over "Profile" from your account dashboard and then clicking on "Edit Profile."

Tip

  • Adjust the size of the banner to eliminate skewing of your picture by inputting the width and height in pixels that you would like your banner to be (if the option is offered).

Warning

  • Beware of navigating away from the MySpace banner generator before retrieving the code for your banner because your progress will not be saved and you will have to begin again.
