Alleviate disruptions in your work caused by inadvertently brushing against your touchpad mouse with your palm or fingers by locking, or temporarily disabling, the touchpad mouse on your laptop. Acer laptops allow you to lock the mouse by using a specific secondary function key. Work on your computer undisturbed by locking your Acer mouse.
Step 1
Open your Acer laptop and press the power button to waken the system from hibernation, or turn the system on and allow it to boot up completely.
Step 2
Click on your Windows user profile and enter the password (if necessary).
Step 3
Press and hold the "Fn" button in the lower left corner of the laptop. This button is the "Function" button.
Step 4
Press the "F7" button at the top of the laptop keyboard while holding down the "Fn" key. Release both keys. This locks the touchpad mouse.
Step 5
Verify the mouse is locked by moving your finger along the touchpad. The mouse arrow should not move.
Step 6
Unlock the mouse by holding the "Fn" key and pressing "F7" a second time.
