Some cell phone providers such as Verizon offer customers the ability to leave voice mail messages without ringing the recipient. This is useful if you know the recipient is busy and cannot speak. You access this feature through your phone's voice mail menu, enter the recipient's number, record your message and then press a button to send it. The message is delivered without the phone ever ringing. However, this only works if the recipient is on the same network. If she has another provider, you will receive a voice mail saying your message couldn't be delivered. But there is a service available called Slydial that users across all carriers can utilize.
Step 1
Dial 267-759-3425 on your Nextel phone.
Step 2
Enter the Verizon phone number you want to leave a voice mail with but without the phone ringing. The basic Slydial service requires you to listen to some ads before recording a voice mail. A paid, ad-free package is available.
Step 3
Hang up your phone to deliver the voice mail.
