How to Get Java to Load on Windows XP

by Lucosi Fuller

To improve the graphical quality of your Web browser, you should download and install Java. With Java, you can see images and videos with much better clarity than you can without it. Once you've installed Java, you can easily enable it in your favorite browser, or in all the browsers on your computer, and enjoy the enhancements it brings to your Internet surfing.

Step 1

Click on the "Start" icon and then click on "Control Panel."

Step 2

Click on the Java icon (a coffee cup) to open the Java Control Panel.

Step 3

Select the "Advanced" tab in the Java Control Panel.

Step 4

Click on the "+" icon by "Default Java for Browsers" and click on the check box beside the Web browser(s) you use.

Step 5

Click on the check box to enable Java in your Web browser and then click on "Apply" to confirm the changes. When you start up your browser, you should see a change in the appearance of some websites.
