How to Install an Updated Version of Norton 360 During a Current Subscription

by Jackson Lewis

Norton 360 is Symantec's "all-in-one" computer security software package. When you buy Norton 360, it will provide protection for your computer against computer viruses, identity theft, provide file protection and keep your computer optimized to run smoothly. The current versions of Norton 360 are programmed to run as a background process on your computer in order to minimize impact on performance when you are actively using your computer. When you have an existing subscription to Norton 360, the software application will allow you to install an updated version without charge while the subscription is valid.

Step 1

Open your computer's Norton 360 control panel by selecting "Start > Symantec > Norton 360" from your computer's "Start" button.

Step 2

Single left click the "Run Live Update" menu option located in the center of the Norton 360 Control Panel that is open on your computer.

Step 3

View the updated version files that are downloaded to your computer by Live Update. Norton 360 will automatically download the latest version of the 360 software package to your computer when running Live Update and install the files.

Step 4

Restart your computer after installation of the updated version of Norton 360 is complete. The software application will now be updated to the latest version at no charge. If you try to upgrade your Norton software application to a different product suite, Symantec will charge you an "upgrade" fee.
