Verizon's Samsung Omnia smartphone comes filled with features and customization options. If you are an Omnia owner who likes to add personal touches to the phone's theme, background and ringtones, consider setting a ringtone as your alarm clock's wake-up call. This handy feature, useful when you have grown tired of the clock's default alarm tones, allows you to wake up to your favorite music. First, ringtones must be transferred to the Omnia from your computer. After this, you are able to choose one as your alarm tone.

Step 1

Connect the Samsung Omnia to your computer using the included cable. When the computer recognizes the device, open the "Start" menu and then click "Computer."

Step 2

Double click the "Samsung Omnia" icon, then open "My Documents" and "My Ringtones." It is also possible to store ringtones in "My Storage" and "My Ringtones." This lets you store ringtones on the phone's external memory card.

Step 3

Copy the ringtones you want to use from the location where you have saved them, such as "My Music." Paste them into the desired "My Ringtones" folder, either in "My Storage" or "My Documents." When finished, disconnect the Omnia from the computer.

Step 4

Power on the Omnia and, from the main "Today" screen, press the right soft key to enter the "Main Menu." Tap "Programs" and then "Clock."

Step 5

Tap the drop-down box and then tap "Alarms." Hit the left soft key to access the "New" function. Scroll through the list of sounds and music available to set as the alarm. Highlight one and tap it to select it. Hit "Done" to save your choice as the new alarm.
