The Logitech Alto gives your HP notebook a full-size keyboard that includes a numeric keypad and a host of function keys. The device also adds additional USB ports to your computer and special-purpose keys, including volume and media hotkeys. In addition, the Logitech Alto raises your HP notebook to a more comfortable position for typing, placing your computer at eye level similar to a desktop computer’s monitor. The device also includes Internet shortcut keys and a Windows Search button that launches your computer’s built-in search component.
Step 1
Place the Logitech Alto on your desk or other surface, and then pull its support release button downward to separate the keyboard from the expansion base. The support release button is in the center of the device.
Step 2
Raise the device’s notebook stand and insert its bottom into the recess area on the expansion base until it forms a letter "A" shape. The stand snaps into place and should not move. If the stand does move, raise it again and reinsert it into the expansion base until it snaps.
Step 3
Open your HP notebook and lean it against the stand. Center your notebook on the stand’s bumper inside the groove on the expansion base or on the device’s hinge, which is the area above the Alto’s keyboard.
Step 4
Remove the USB cable from the back of the Alto’s expansion base. The cable is sitting in a grooved area. Extend the USB cable to its full length, and then insert it into any available USB port on the side or back of your HP notebook.
Step 5
Turn on your HP notebook. Windows automatically loads the Alto’s device driver, and then prompts you with a message stating the device is ready to use. Connect any other USB devices you want to use into the available USB ports on the side of the Alto by its keyboard.
Tip
- To release the Alto’s support, pull the support release button. The support immediately pops away from the expansion area. Only release the device's support after removing your HP notebook from the device.
