How to Install a Java Application From a CD

by Greyson Ferguson

More than likely you have some sort of Java application installed on your computer. Java, from Sun Microsystems, allows you to run a variety of different applications on your computer, including Web-based graphics and movies. However, there are a variety of different Java applications available, and some programs require you to have Java installed on the system before the programs can run properly. If this is the case, you can install a Java application from the provided software CD.

Step 1

Insert the programming CD into the CD drive of the computer.

Step 2

Click "Next" on the welcome page, then read through and accept the license agreement.

Step 3

Follow the prompts, leaving them at the default settings. Leaving the default settings as is allows your computer to always know where the application is, and helps the software you install identify the Java application.
