The HP VGA Webcam is a video-chatting peripheral designed for PC desktop computers. The webcam connects to your computer through a USB port and has a built-in microphone so you can capture both video and audio for applications such as AOL Instant Messenger and Skype. However, you must properly install the HP VGA Webcam software before connecting the device to your desktop computer.

Step 1

Insert the CD that came with your HP VGA Webcam into the disc drive on your desktop PC.

Step 2

Click to select a language when the installation tool appears, and then click "OK."

Step 3

Click on the first component in the list on the next window. The HP VGA Webcam requires four separate software drivers that must be installed one at a time.

Step 4

Wait for the first component to finish installing and then click on the remaining three components one at a time to install them as well.

Step 5

Restart your PC once the four software drivers have been successfully installed.

Step 6

Connect the HP VGA Webcam to an open USB port on your desktop. Windows will recognize the new device and complete the configuration process using the software drivers you just installed.
