For iPod Touch owners who do not have a Wi-Fi connection it's important to install games directly from iTunes to the device. This requires the included Apple USB cable and iTunes software. Once you have installed games on the device, it becomes a visually appealing game system on par with popular handheld units like the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS.

Step 1

Open Apple iTunes from the desktop or programs menu.

Step 2

Plug the iPod Touch into the provided Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable, then connect the cable to the USB port on the computer.

Step 3

Locate and select the iPod from the "Devices" menu on the left side of the iTunes screen. Click the "Apps" tab.

Step 4

Check the box next to the "Sync Apps" label. You can select and deselect any game or application depending on what you want installed on the iPod Touch.

Step 5

Click the "Apply" button when finished. This begins the synchronization process, which installs the games on the iPod Touch. Do not unplug the USB cable or exit the iTunes program during this stage.

Tip

  • These steps presume you have already downloaded the game or application in iTunes. If you have not, locate games you want, then go through the necessary prompts to download the app to iTunes.
