How to Install Apps on an LG Vu With Bluetooth

by Meg North

You can install apps from your PC to your LG Vu smartphone by syncing both devices with Bluetooth wireless technology. To use Bluetooth, it must also be installed on your PC; if not, you will need a dongle adapter. Apps for the LG Vu can be found online by searching for them or by using an all-in-one app location. Many apps are free as well. You can install as many apps as you like onto the LG Vu provided you have enough memory.

Step 1

Start your PC and search for the Bluetooth wireless technology. Click the "Start" button and then type "Bluetooth" in the search box. If Bluetooth is not available, plug in the dongle to an available USB port and follow the installation instructions. After it is available, click on the icon.

Step 2

Access the "Shortcut Menu" on your LG Vu by tapping the "Display" button and then the "Shortcut" button. Tap the "Bluetooth" icon.

Step 3

Tap "New" to add a new device. Bluetooth will locate the PC and display it in a pop-up menu. Tap "OK" and enter the appropriate password. The two devices are now synced.

Step 4

Find apps online that you want to install on the LG Vu. Click the app and then click "Download." It will download to your PC.

Step 5

Open Bluetooth on the PC. Depending on the dongle, there is a "Send File" or "Send To" command in the Bluetooth menu. Click this command to open the File Transfer Wizard.

Step 6

Click "Browse" to browse for the downloaded app file. Select the LG Vu as the destination for the file. Then enter the passkey for your LG Vu.

Step 7

Click "OK" and the app file is sent to the LG Vu via Bluetooth.

Step 8

Access the Multimedia Menu on the LG Vu. Tap the "Menu" icon and then the "Multimedia" icon. Tap "Applications." Tap on the app name to install and open it.
