When you edit your Facebook profile, your changes appears in your friends' news feeds, earning you potentially unwanted attention. You may want your profile to say you're single without receiving questions about your recent breakup; you may want your profile to state your religion or political party without sparking debates about your beliefs. Facebook records every change you make in your profile's Activity Log; by removing these stories from the log, your friends will no longer see them on your timeline or elsewhere.

Step 1

Log in to your Facebook account and open your profile page.

Step 2

Click the "Activity Log" button to view all of your Facebook activity, including edits you've made to your profile.

Step 3

Click the icon to the right of a change's entry to open a pop-up menu. This icon may be a pencil or a star.

Step 4

Click "Delete" to hide the profile change throughout Facebook. If no "Delete" link appears, click "Hidden from Timeline" to hide the profile change on your timeline.
