How to do a Hard Reset With Verizon's Samsung Omnia Phone

by Kirk Bennet

The Samsung Omnia is a potent smartphone that runs on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional mobile operating system. Like most electronic devices, your Samsung Omnia can freeze or restart for no apparent reason. To restore the phone to its factory default settings and remove all problematic applications, you can hard-reset the phone. You don't need to reflash the firmware, because a hard reset usually solves the problem.

Step 1

Tap "Start" on your Samsung Omnia phone and tap "Settings" to view your phone's settings.

Step 2

Tap the "Hard Reset" icon in the System tab and then tap "Clear all data" to start resetting the device.

Step 3

Type the device lock code to hard reset your Samsung Omnia. The default device lock code is "1234."

Tip

  • You should back up the contents of your Omnia before you perform a hard reset to avoid losing important data.

Warning

  • Hard-resetting the device deletes all your applications and data and restores all settings to factory defaults.
