How to Forward Phone Calls With AT&T

Call forwarding is a useful feature for many people, allowing you to forward incoming calls from one phone to another. It's become an extremely common feature, available from most carriers, including AT&T.

GSM Phone (Smartphone)

Step 1

Find and select the "Settings" option in the phone menu.

Step 2

Select "Call Settings" and then "Forwarding."

Step 3

Select a forwarding option from the list, such as "Forward All Voice Calls" or "Forward When Available."

Step 4

Follow the prompts and enter the phone number to which you want to forward calls when asked.

Step 5

Press "OK."

TDMA Phones ("Dumb" Phones)

Step 1

Dial *71 if you are in Washington D.C., Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, St. Louis or upstate New York. Otherwise, dial *72.

Step 2

Dial 1, and then the phone number to which you want to forward calls.

Step 3

Press the "Send" or "Talk" button and then listen for a confirmation tone. If you don't hear a confirmation tone, you may need to try again from step 1.

Step 4

Press the "End" button.
