If you have your own website, sometimes you might want to put a link on your web page to an upcoming search engine like Dogpile. Maybe you just want to promote your favorite search engine or you want it there for easy access. If you want to link to the Dogpile search, you have to know how to format the Dogpile search URL, which can be done with a bit of basic HTML coding.

Step 1

Know how to form the hyperlink HTML code, which is as follows:
<a href= "url">Anchor Text </a>.

Step 2

Replace the "URL" section of the code with the Dogpile search URL as follows:
<a href= "http://www.dogpile.com">Anchor Text </a>.

Step 3

Replace the "Anchor Text" section of the code with the text you wish to appear as your link. For instance, you could write it as follows:
<a href= "http://www.dogpile.com"> Dogpile Search</a>.

Tip

  • Make sure you include the "http://" portion of the URL because your code will not work if you do not.

Warning

  • Note that your link will not work if you make even one mistake in your HTML code.
