Facebook is the website to visit when you want to connect with friends old and new, but it's also the place to go when you're in the mood for a few games. Dozens of free flash games are available for Facebook members. Flash games are played in your browser and don't usually require you to download any software to play them. All of Facebook's game offerings are flash games, and with many categories from which to choose, you're likely to find something you enjoy.
Action and Adventure
Action and adventure games focus on fast-paced challenges that put your skills to the test. Facebook action games include titles like "Hamsters," in which you must launch a hamster as far as you can. "Knight Elite" lets you become a knight, then keep waves of ogres and monsters from entering your castle. In the Adventure category, choose from games such as "Hands of War," a live-action RPG, or "Gatuno in Halloween," where you need to rescue your pet cat from an evil witch's spell.
Shooting and Fighting
If you're in the mood to destroy something, try a flash game from the Shooting and Fighting categories. Shooters include "Red Storm 2: Survival," where you control a team of robotic fighters as they eliminate a Soviet threat. In "Chronicles of Raynor," enter a side-scrolling shooting environment and fight off multiple waves of soldiers. The Fighting category features titles like "Super Sumo," a game where you must knock your sumo wrestler opponent out of the ring. For those who like superhero games, try "Batman Brawl." In it, Batman and his foes face off in a series of boxing matches.
Puzzle and Arcade
Try Facebook's Puzzle category if you like to challenge your brain while playing games. Select games like "Imperfect Balance," which requires you to collapse towers and shapes to make your way to the goal. "Lateral" is a word puzzle game, where you must guess words and phrases that are connected to win. The Arcade category features fast-paced games such as "Crazy Ape" -- you must avoid the falling barrels and rescue the princess at the top of the platform. Or try "Croak" and guide your little frog across the highway to safety, while avoiding oncoming traffic and other threats.
Board Game and Casino
Facebook's Board Game category includes flash games such as "Mytheria," which is a card game with science fiction characters and environments, and "Sudoku Hero," including millions of different sudoku puzzles and six different difficulties. Visit the Casino category if you are craving a card game. You'll find many card game variants, such as "Aces High Solitaire" and "Poker Splash." If you like slots, play "Fruit Slots," and roulette fans can try "GoldRush Roulette."
Sports and Driving
The Sports category on Facebook has lots to offer, including titles like "Ski Runner," where you must rush down a snowy mountain while racking up points and avoiding obstacles. Several pool games are available, like "Zforce Pool" and "Pool King." Other games feature water skiing, ping pong and volleyball. In the Driving games category, play "Crazy Kart," and take the wheel of a super-powered jeep in a race to the finish. In "Overflew the Nagelan," you must guide your flying monster to the finish before anyone else to win.
