Javascript provides a way for website developers to run client-side code on a reader's machine. Javascript is coded in a web page to make the site more dynamic like moving images, changing button colors and dialog boxes. The Microsoft Internet Explorer software is a popular Web browser used to read website pages. Its settings block Javascript from running on machines, but it can be enabled in the configuration options.

Step 1

Open Internet Explorer and click the "Tools" menu option. A list of menu items are displayed. Click "Internet Options," which is the last menu item in the list.

Step 2

Click the tab labeled "Security." In the top window, click the icon labeled "Internet." Click the button labeled "Custom Level." This opens a new Internet Explorer configuration window.

Step 3

Check the box named "Active Scripting" in the list of custom security settings. Click "OK" to save your browser settings. Click "OK" again at the main options window. Javascript is now enabled on your Internet Explorer browser.
