Enabling the GPS function on your sunset red BlackBerry Curve is the same as with any other color of BlackBerry Curve. The GPS function allows you to find your longitude and latitude not only to confirm where you are, but to help you get driving instructions or find nearby locations. In order to use GPS, you will need to ensure that your phone has internal GPS and that your cellular service allows you to use it.
Step 1
Confirm that your BlackBerry is GPS-enabled. If you do not have an internal GPS, you can use Bluetooth to connect to a GPS receiver of your choice.
Step 2
Go to "Device Options" then "Advanced Options" and click "GPS."
Step 3
Press the "Menu" button and select "Refresh GPS." Once you've clicked this button the latitude and longitude of your current location will be displayed on your phone.
Step 4
Turn off the location tracking feature if you're worried about being tracked via your phone's GPS service. Go to the GPS menu again and change the "Location Tracking" field to "No."
Step 5
Press the Menu button and select "Save."
Tip
- The first time you use your BlackBerry's GPS service it may take some time to update your current location.
- If you're using an external GPS receiver, make sure that your GPS receiver is properly paired via Bluetooth.
