While there are many free, embeddable MP3 players available for your website, a lot of them require you to download software or install a plugin. If you're looking for a quick, copy-and-paste method of getting your song online, both Google and Yahoo! provide MP3 players that can be used without any additional installations. In order to use these MP3 players, you will only need the hosting location for your file. Having a basic knowledge of HTML code will also prove useful.

Google MP3 Player

Step 1

Upload your MP3 file to your webhost. Write down the directory location. Alternatively, if your MP3 file is hosted elsewhere and you have permission to share it, make note of its web address.

Step 2

Copy and paste the following HTML code into the HTML document for your webpage. If you are using an HTML-enabled blog editor such as WordPress or Blogger, you may paste this code into the body of your post.

<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars="audioUrl=YOUR_URL" src="http://www.google.com/reader/ui/3523697345-audio-player.swf" width="400" height="27" quality="best"></embed>

Replace the "YOUR_URL" value with the URL from Step 1. Save the changes to your HTML document.

Step 3

Load your website in your Internet browser. Play the file to confirm that the embedding was successful.

Yahoo! Media Player

Step 1

Upload your MP3 file to your webhost. Write down the directory location. Alternatively, if your MP3 file is hosted elsewhere and you have permission to share it, make note of its web address.

Step 2

Visit the Yahoo! Media Player website (see References). In section A, paste the URL from Step 1 into the designated location within the HTML code box. Replace the "First Link" text with the title of your MP3.

Step 3

Copy the HTML code from section B. Paste it into the HTML document for your website. If you are using an HTML-enabled blog editor such as WordPress or Blogger, you may paste this code into the body of your post.

Step 4

Load your website in your Internet browser. The Yahoo! Media player displays as a tiny play button to the left of the MP3's title text. Click the play button the file to confirm that the embedding was successful.
