The iPod is a media device used for listening to music, watching videos, playing games and utilizing many other features. In order to manage music and other items on your iPod, you must use the iTunes application. With this software you can easily add or remove music from your iPod when it's connected to your computer. The simplest way to add music to your iPod with iTunes is to make sure the syncing feature is turned on, which will automatically add any songs stored in your iTunes library to your iPod whenever it is connected to the software.
Step 1
Download and install the latest version of the iTunes application. Open iTunes on your computer. Click the "Library" option from the left navigation pane of the iTunes application.
Step 2
Locate any folders containing music on your computer with the iTunes application remaining open. Select single audio tracks or an entire folder of music and then drag the folder into the "Library" section of iTunes.
Step 3
Insert a CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer to add more music to your library. Make sure each track you want to add is selected and then click the "Import CD" button from the top right corner of the application. The music will then be added to your iTunes library.
Step 4
Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB connector. Click the "iPod" option from below the "Devices" heading in the left navigation pane.
Step 5
Click the "Options" button at the bottom left side of the application. This button has an iPod icon on it. Click "Automatically update all songs and playlists," and all songs in your library will automatically be added to your iPod.
