How to Download Yahoo Mobile Messenger to a Mobile Phone

Yahoo! Messenger is an application that allows users to send instant messages to other Yahoo! members. Though Yahoo! Messenger is widely known as a computer application, the company also provides users with a mobile version. After downloading the application on your cell phone, log in to your Yahoo! account and begin chatting with friends. Depending on the type of mobile phone you own, the installation method will vary.

Using a Cell Phone

Step 1

Open the web browser on your cell phone.

Step 2

Type "m.yahoo.com/messenger" in your web browser and click on the "Enter" button.

Step 3

Click on the "Yahoo! Messenger" link and select "Yahoo! Instant Messenger for mobile."

Step 4

Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and click on the "Sign In" button. Now use the Yahoo! Messenger application on your cell phone.

Using a Smart Phone

Step 1

Open the applications store, such as Android Market or Blackberry App World, on your smart phone.

Step 2

Perform a search for Yahoo! Messenger, then select the application when it appears on the screen.

Step 3

Click "Install" to begin downloading the instant messaging application. After downloading the application, enter your Yahoo! ID and password to access Yahoo! Messenger.
