Cell phones are handy for casually shooting and viewing photos, but if you want to store, print or edit your pictures, you will probably want to transfer them to a computer. The Motorola RAZR only has a capacity of 5 Megabytes (MB) for storing photos, so regularly downloading them to your PC will help free up space. To do this, you just need the software that came with your RAZR.
Step 1
Install the Motorola Phone Tools software that came supplied with your RAZR handset if you have not already installed it.
Step 2
Open Motorola Phone Tools on your PC, and connect your RAZR using a Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable. If you do not have the one that came with your handset, any mini USB cable will work.
Step 3
Click on the Function Panel button of the Phone Tools main screen (the button above the green phone icon) and select the Multimedia Studio option (the bell icon).
Step 4
Click "Mobile Explorer" in the list on the left of the Multimedia Studio window.
Step 5
Choose a destination for your photos on your PC (e.g. "My Pictures") in the "My Computer" panel of Mobile Explorer.
Step 6
Double-click on "picture" in the "Mobile Phone" panel of Mobile Explorer, and choose the photos that you want to download to your PC. Hold "ctrl" on your keyboard while clicking on photo files to select more than one.
Step 7
Click on the "Copy to Computer" button at the top of the Mobile Explorer window to start the file transfer. It should only take a few seconds per photo. Once the transfer is complete, safely remove your RAZR from your PC, and your photos will be stored on both your PC and your RAZR handset.
Tip
- You can delete photos from your RAZR using the Mobile Explorer window if you do not want to keep them on your handset after you transfer them. Simply highlight them and press "delete" on your keyboard. It's quicker than deleting them using the handset.
