One of the key aspects of a portable media player is the ability to download music so that you can listen to it at any time and anywhere. The Zune player operates on a subscription model and allows you unlimited downloads of music for a particular monthly fee. Once you sign in to the Zune software, search for your genre of music and download the songs you like.

Step 1

Click the Windows "Start" button, select "All Programs," choose the "Zune" folder and click "Zune."

Step 2

Sign in to the Zune Marketplace software with your Windows Live ID. The sign-in box is located in the upper-right corner.

Step 3

Click "Marketplace" in the upper-left corner.

Step 4

Click "Music" and the Zune software displays the most popular music for you to download. They provide you the top songs, top albums and top releases.

Step 5

Click on the album or song of your choice and select "Download." The Zune downloads the material and it will appear in your collection. You can access your collection by clicking "Collection" in the upper-left corner.
