You can transfer music from your computer to a portable media player such as an MP3 player using Windows Media Player. You probably already have this program on your computer if you are running a copy of the Windows operating system.

Step 1

Access Windows Media Player by clicking on the 'Start" button and then selecting it under "All Programs."

Step 2

Click on the "Sync" tab. Hook up your media player to your computer with the USB cord.

Step 3

Click and drag music from your computer's folders to where it says "Drag files here." Click "Start Sync" to download the MP3s to your media player.
