The Creative Zen MP3 player is intended to house all types of audio files, including books on tape. These files can then be transferred back to your computer's hard drive for storage or for use on your home machine. Transferring files to and from your Zen MP3 player requires nothing more than the included software that comes with your Zen music player. The file transfer process itself can be completed in seconds.
Step 1
Insert the installation disk that came with your MP3 player into your CD drive.
Step 2
Double-click the "My Computer" icon, then double-click the drive letter of your CD-ROM (typically the "D" drive).
Step 3
Double-click the file named "Setup.exe" and press the "Install" button to begin the setup procedure. This will install the device drivers for your MP3 player along with the necessary software to transfer files.
Step 4
Connect your Zen MP3 player to the computer with the included USB cable. The computer will auto-detect it.
Step 5
Open the Creative Centrale or Creative Media Lite program, installed during steps 1 through 3. This will open a screen displaying the contents of your Zen player.
Step 6
Highlight the audio book of your choice and drag it to a location on your computer's hard drive, effectively downloading it from your player.
