The Kindle e-reader enables you to customize the font size for most types of e-book formats, allowing you to make the type larger to make your reading more comfortable. Customization does not change the font size of menus or screens and cannot affect PDF formats. The method of changing font size is nearly the same for all Kindle models, including the Kindle DX, Touch, Keyboard, Fire and the original Kindle.

Kindle, Kindle DX and Kindle Keyboard

Step 1

Open the e-book for which you wish to enlarge the type size.

Step 2

Press the "Aa" button at the bottom of the vertically oriented reader.

Step 3

Press the right side of the "5-Way" navigation button to highlight a larger font.

Step 4

Press the center of the "5-Way" button to confirm your selection.

Kindle Touch

Step 1

Touch the top of the screen while reading an ebook.

Step 2

Touch the "Aa" option at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3

Tap a larger sized font to increase type size.

Kindle Fire

Step 1

Tap the center of the screen while viewing an e-book.

Step 2
