The Palm Treo Pro smartphone automatically connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi unless the settings are changed. The Wi-Fi settings are easy to locate and change. The option to turn Internet connection back on is also available. Disable the Internet connection to avoid accidentally connecting to the Internet while traveling and to not pay unnecessary data charges. Disabling Internet connection on the Palm Treo Pro does not prevent you from using the calling features.

Step 1

Press and hold the "Wi-Fi" button on the right-side of the smartphone to turn off the Wi-Fi. The smart phone will not try to connect to the Internet.

Step 2

Press the "Start" key and select "Settings" using the 5-way central arrow button.

Step 3

Select the "Connections" tab and select "Wi-Fi Prefs." Set the radio button to "On button press." The Wi-Fi feature is off until you press the Wi-Fi button to turn it on.

Step 4

Press the central "Menu" key in the middle of the 5-way. Select "Remove Settings" to remove the network settings from memory.

Warning

  • Disabling the Internet on the Palm Treo Pro also turns off email. You can use the Messaging application on the Treo to set up your email accounts.
