Owners of the HTC Touch Diamond smartphone have access to a wide variety of tools and features, including high-speed Internet connectivity, a 3.2 megapixel camera and an integrated Global Positioning System (GPS). The Diamond's GPS allows users to navigate city streets and highways across the country. If you own an external GPS device, however, you likely do not have use for the Diamond's navigation feature. In this case, it is possible to turn the GPS off.

Step 1

Power on your HTC Touch Diamond, then tap the "Today" icon. Open the "Start" screen, then tap "Phone."

Step 2

Press the "Menu" button," then tap "Options." Tap "Service" and "Location Setting."

Step 3

Press the "Get Settings" option. Tap the circle button next to "911 Only" to turn off the GPS feature. Turn the GPS back on, if desired, by tapping "Location On."
