The Google toolbar is a browser add-on that enables you to search for content no matter where you are on the Internet without navigating back and forth to the Google website. By default, the Google toolbar saves your recent searches so that you can access the same content again anytime you want. Delete your recent searches if you do not want anyone to see your search history.

Step 1

Click the drop-down arrow next to the Google toolbar search box located on the top of your browser window. You should see a list of your recent Google searches.

Step 2

Scroll down the list of recent searches and click the "Clear History" option. This erases your recent Google searches.

Step 3

Click the Google toolbar wrench icon if you no longer want the toolbar to keep track of your search history. A new window launches. Click the "Search" tab. Deselect the "Store search history on my computer" option and select "Save." Google no longer keeps a record of your searches.
