How to Delete MP3 Songs Off of My SanDisk

by Melissa King

The SanDisk company offers a line of MP3 players to music lovers, including the Sansa Fuze, Clip and View. If you have a very large music collection, it may take up nearly all of the available storage space on your SanDisk player. This can be a problem when you want to put new songs on the device. To make room for more music, you will need to delete some of your other MP3 files. There are two ways to do this: either by direct deletion from the player, or via your computer.

Direct Deletion

Step 1

Power on the SanDisk MP3 player, if it is not turned on already.

Step 2

Select a song to play to enter "Playback" mode. Tap "Submenu."

Step 3

Highlight and select the "Delete" option to delete the song. This deletes individual files, so you must repeat these steps to delete all of the desired songs.

Deletion via Computer

Step 1

Connect the SanDisk player to your computer using the included USB cable.

Step 2

Wait for the prompt screen to appear, then click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer."

Step 3

Double click the "MUSIC" folder. Highlight all of the songs you want to delete, and click "Delete" or hit the "Backspace" key. This method allows you to delete many songs at once.
