Remove all traces of browsing history.

Occasionally the history of websites that a browser has visited must be deleted for security purposes. This procedure is relatively straightforward, though there are some differences from browser to browser. Three popular browsers---Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari---have different steps for deleting browsing history. The steps must be followed properly to ensure that the history is purged from the system.
Internet Explorer
Step 1
Close all open IE windows.
Step 2
Click the "Start" button, then select Control Panel, then Network and Internet, then Internet Options.
Step 3
Click the General tab.
Step 4
Click "Delete" under Browsing History.
Step 5
Click the History tab.
Step 6
Click "Delete History."
Firefox
Step 1
Launch Firefox and click Tools in the menu bar.
Step 2
Select Clear Recent History from the Tools menu.
Step 3
Select the time range to clear. You can clear everything from the last hour, the last two hours, the last four hours or the last day, or simply delete all the history.
Step 4
Click the Details arrow and select the information that you want to delete. The first option, Browsing & Download History contains information about websites that you have visited.
Step 5
Click "Clear Now."
Safari
Step 1
Launch Safari.
Step 2
Click Safari or Edit in the menu bar, depending on which version of Safari you are running.
Step 3
Select Reset Safari.
Step 4
Check any information that you want to clear. To remove the history of websites that you have visited you must check Clear History, Empty the Cache and Remove all Website Icons.
Step 5
Click "Reset."
