A Linksys wireless-G router allows devices to access a network using an Ethernet cable or the 802.11g wireless standard. The router broadcasts a signal that is received by all other compatible wireless devices in range. Typically, if your router is password protected, unwanted users cannot use the signal to access your network. If you are worried about security or have no need for wireless access, change the router's settings and disable or dampen the wireless signal.
