Text message groups let you send one message to multiple recipients without having to enter each person’s telephone number. The feature is ideal when organizing a business meeting or event using your Samsung Omnia smartphone’s text messaging component. The text message group feature lets you assign a name to the collection of contacts so you can easily retrieve the collection again when you need it. The feature is accessible via your Samsung Omnia’s “People” menu.

Step 1

Tap the icon containing the right arrow to enter your phone’s Menu mode. Tap “People” and then the “+” icon.

Step 2

Tap “New group.” Use your Samsung Omnia’s keyboard to enter a name for your text message group. Tap “Add a contact” to select from a list of contacts in your phone -- repeat this sentence to add additional contacts to your text message group.

Step 3

Tap the disk icon, it contains a picture of a 3.5-inch floppy disk, to save your text message group.

Step 4

Tap the icon containing the right arrow to enter your phone’s Menu mode. Tap “Messaging” and then the “+” icon. Tap the “+” icon next to the name of the text messaging group you created in step 2 to select it. A message box will appear.

Step 5

Tap the text field within the message box to enter the information you want to send to the individuals within your text message group. Tap the icon containing three lines and a black rectangular to send the text message to individuals within the group.

Tip

  • You can also send a multimedia message, as well as a voice message, to individuals within a text message group. Tap the microphone icon within a new message box to record a voice message, tap the camera icon to attach a picture to the message or tap the paper clip icon to attach a picture to the message to the group. And then tap the icon containing three lines and a black rectangular to send the text message to individuals within the group.
