Flash video is a common video format used on the Internet. This video format streams high quality files over high band-widths. These Internet videos cannot be played on a Sony PSP handheld video game system because the PSP only supports videos in the MP4 file format. The MP4 format gives high quality video in a small file sizes. Converting videos to the PSP MP4 format is a task that can be accomplished using a free program such as PSP Video Express.
Download the PSP Video Express program (resource below).
Install PSP Video Express onto your computer by following the installation instructions.
Run the PSP Video Express software.
Click on the "File" button located on the top of the program window.
Select the "Open Video File" option in the file menu. Browse and select the flash video that you want to convert and then click the "Open" button to load it up.
Click on the "Play" button on the monitor. This allows you to preview the video.
Choose "320x240" in the "Resolution" window then slide the quality slider to the left or right for quality settings.
Click on "Record It" to convert the video file to the MP4 format, compatible with the PSP. Leave the program open when the conversion process finishes.
Connect your PSP handheld game system to your computer via its USB cable inserted into an open USB port.
Go to the "Settings" option on your PSP's main menu, then "USB Connection" and press the "X" button.
Click on the "Transfer to PSP" button in the open program to sync up the video to your PSP system.
Disconnect the PSP system from your computer and go to "Video" then select your memory card. The video will be located here and ready to play.
