If you have a number of CDs you want converted to MP3 format, you can use audio software that comes standard with all Windows PC computers: Windows Media Player. Users may rip their audio CDs to a number of formats, including MP3, by setting their "Rip Settings" in the main WMP library screen. It is advised that you update your version of Windows Media Player to the most current before you begin, as this will ensure quicker conversions. Please note that since MP3s are not as high quality as your CD audio, some loss of quality may occur during conversion.
Download and install the latest version of Windows Media Player, updating your current player. Agree to the licensing terms and launch the program.
Hit the "Rip Settings" tab in the main WMP menu. Click "Format" and choose "MP3" from the drop down list of options. You may also adjust the bitrate of your songs by clicking "Audio Quality." Higher bitrates will increase the size and quality of your audio.
Insert your audio CD into your computer and wait for Windows Media Player to recognize the disc.
Press the "Rip CD" button to begin copying your CD to MP3 songs. Your new audio will automatically appear in the Windows Media Player library upon conversion.
