The Musical Instrument Digital Interface file format, usually stored with either the MIDI or MID extension, is a file format designed for recording data from digital musical instruments to be used in the recording process. The MP3 container format remains the standard audio file format and works in nearly every music program, while the WAV container allows for more customization and works well for audio editing. Many free converters can turn your MIDI files into either output format.
