The FLV, or Flash Video, file container format was developed by Adobe. It is a popular video format primarily used for online streaming content. Flash videos are not playable in most digital media jukeboxes. Using online conversion websites, users can convert Flash files into an array of other popular video formats, including WMV, MOV, MPEG and AVI.
Method No. 1
Step 1
Navigate to mediaconverter.org. See Resources.
Step 2
Click the "Upload a file" button and locate the Flash file you wish to convert. The file name will appear in the "Selected files" menu. Click "OK."
Step 3
Select your output file format in the dropdown menu. Click "OK."
Step 4
Click "Start" in the "Summary" menu to begin your conversion.
Step 5
Use the Mediaconverter download link to download the new file once the conversion is complete.
Method No. 2
Step 1
Navigate to Zamzar.com. See Resources.
Step 2
Click the "Convert Files" button to select the Flash file you wish to convert.
Step 3
Select your output file format in the dropdown menu.
Step 4
Enter your email address in the menu.
Step 5
Click "Convert." After Zamzar converts the Flash file, you'll be sent an email with a link to your new file.
