The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card in a mobile phone contains your cell phone service account information. The SIM card can be swapped between compatible phones while preserving the service. Contacts saved to the SIM card can be imported by other phones, such as the Blackberry Pearl. The BlackBerry operating system provides a convenient tool for importing a single contact or the entire contents of the SIM card's contact list.
Step 1
Turn off your device and remove the back panel. Remove the battery to expose the SIM card slot.
Step 2
Insert the SIM card. Replace the battery and cover. Turn on the phone.
Step 3
Select "Contacts" and press the trackball to confirm.
Step 4
Press the menu button and select "SIM Phone Book" to display the contacts stored on the SIM card.
Step 5
Highlight an individual contact and press the trackball to select it. Press "Add to Contacts" to create the new contact and add any additional information.
Step 6
Press the menu button from the SIM Phone Book and choose "Copy All to Contacts" to transfer all the contacts on the SIM card.
Step 7
Return to your phone's contact list to ensure that the transfer was a success.
Tip
- Contacts saved to the phone can be transferred to the SIM card but will not include any additional data like email addresses or birthdays.
