Internet Explorer is the default web browser for all Windows operating systems. A web browser is a program that can be used to look at websites, open basic word documents, view photos and download files. When a user goes to a website, Internet Explorer stores this information. This is to make returning to or finding the website again easier. This information can be deleted by accessing "Internet Options." Depending on your version of IE, the process can vary slightly.
