The ability to maintain a calendar of events, complete with customizable alarms, is one of the advantages to using the iPhone as your chosen mobile device. Changing the settings for your calendar alarms, or "alerts"--as they are referred to within the iPhone's operating system--to the timing and sound you want allows you to take advantage of the many ways in which you can personalize the iPhone to suit your needs and preferences.
Changing When The Alert Will Sound
Tap the calendar button on your iPhone's desktop.
Locate the date of the event you want to edit and tap its square on the calendar.
Touch the event in the list below the calendar and tap the "Edit" button on the event's page.
Select the "Alert" button from the list of options.
Tap the button that represents the length of time you want to be alerted before the event. This is when your alarm will go off.
Touch the "Done" button, then tap "Done" again on the Edit page.
Changing the Calendar Alert Sound
Tap the "Settings" icon on the iPhone's desktop.
Touch "Sounds," then select "Calendar Alerts" from the list of options.
