The caller ID on your iPhone let's you know who's calling -- sometimes before you even look at your phone. In addition to displaying the name of your caller, an iPhone can play a unique tone for each caller. You may also choose to have your contact's picture display on the screen when she calls. If you want to change the phone number associated with a caller ID, editing the contact takes just a few seconds.

Step 1

Tap the "Contacts" icon on your phone's home screen.

Step 2

Tap the name of the contact that you want to change the phone number of.

Step 3

Tap the "Edit" icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 4

Tap the current phone number. Tap the "x" to the right of the phone number to delete it entirely, or use the backspace button on the keypad to erase the number one digit at a time. Type in the new phone number.

Step 5

Tap the "Done" icon in the top-right corner of the screen to save the changes.
