There used to be only one way to connect to the Internet to send emails, and that was with a phone cord from the jack to the computer. Now you can connect by cable, a wireless network and Bluetooth. Thanks to the development of smart phones and Internet-enabled phones, you can connect your phone to your PC with Bluetooth and use your PC browser to send emails.
Using a Bluetooth Modem Device
Step 1
Sign up for a wireless modem plan. Wireless providers such as Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T offer wireless data plans. These plans typically range in price and require 12-, 18- or 24-month contracts.
Step 2
Purchase a phone that can be used as a modem. When you sign up for a modem plan, ask the operator to suggest handsets that double as modems. Each wireless provider recommends different handsets for this purpose.
Step 3
Choose a phone that is also Bluetooth enabled.
Using Bluetooth for the Internet
Step 1
Enable Bluetooth on your cell phone. Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel" on your PC. Click the "Bluetooth Devices" button. Click "Add," then enter the passkey that came with your PC. You also will receive the option to choose your own passkey. A dialogue message will display on your cell phone asking you for the same passkey. Enter it, then click "Connect."
Step 2
Go back to the Windows "Control Panel" and open "Network and Connections." Click "Create a New Connection." This option is located on the blue sidebar on the left side of the folder.
Step 3
Click the icon next to "Connect to the Internet," then click "Next."
Step 4
Enter a name for your connection in the "ISP" name box. Click "Next." Enter your cell phone number in the phone number box. Click "Next." Ignore the next screen that asks for your ISP account name and password. Just click "Next." On the next screen click "Finished."
Step 5
A "Connect 1" box will open next. Click the "Dial" option. Open your Web browser or email program. You can now send email over your Bluetooth connection.
