The iPod Nano 3G gives you the ability to listen to music and watch music videos, TV shows and movies. Adding files to your iPod can be done automatically, but Apple suggests that files as large as movies should be synced to your iPod manually to give you absolute control over what movies are put on your iPod. Syncing your movies manually requires following just a few steps, which will work on PCs or Macs.
Step 1
Turn on your computer and iPod Nano.
Step 2
Plug one end of a USB or FireWire cable into your computer. Connect the other end to your iPod Nano.
Step 3
Open iTunes if it does not start automatically when you connect the iPod Nano to your computer.
Step 4
Click the iPod icon under "Devices" on the left side of the iTunes window.
Step 5
Click the "Summary" tab at the top of the iTunes window, and then select the option that allows you to "Manually" manage your music and videos. Once this is done, click on "Apply."
Step 6
Look at the left source pane window and notice the "Library" heading at the top of the window. Click the "Movies" listing.
Step 7
Click and drag the movie you want to sync to your iPod to the "Movies" listing under "Devices." Repeat this process until you have added all the movies you wish to add.
Step 8
Click the "Eject" icon to the right of the iPod icon, and then disconnect your iPod from your computer.
Tip
- You also can watch movies from your iPod on your TV with a component AV cable.
Warning
- Never disconnect the iPod from your computer without ejecting it in iTunes first, as it can cause your iPod's software to freeze up.
