How Can You Order From Amazon With PayPal?

by Andrea Ruiz Google

Amazon.com users can pay for their online purchases using a wide variety of payment methods, including gift cards, credit cards and direct withdrawal from a checking account. PayPal is the world's largest Internet payment processor and millions of customers use it to make online purchases. Despite this, Amazon.com does not accept payment drawn directly from a PayPal account. You can apply for a PayPal debit MasterCard that will allow you to pay for purchases on Amazon.com.

Step 1

Apply for a PayPal debit card. If you have had your PayPal account for longer than 60 days, apply to have PayPal send you a MasterCard-logo debit card on which you can instantly draw from your PayPal funds. Log in to your PayPal account and hover your mouse over "Withdraw." Click "PayPal Debit MasterCard" and follow the on-screen instructions to apply for and receive your card. It typically arrives in the mail within a few business days.

Step 2

Add the items you want to purchase on Amazon.com to your shopping cart by clicking the "Add to Cart" button in the item's profile.

Step 3

Click the "Proceed to Checkout" button when you're ready to purchase your items. Log in with your Amazon.com username and password. If you don't have a username and password, select the "I Am a New Customer" option and click the sign-in button, following the on-screen instructions to create a free Amazon.com buyer account.

Step 4

Click "Add a New Card" in the "Select a Payment Method" screen under "Credit or Debit Cards."

Step 5

Enter your PayPal Debit MasterCard number, the name on the card and its expiration date in the information fields.

Step 6

Click "Add Your Card" and proceed to the next screen to review your order.

Step 7

Click the "Place Your Order" button at the bottom of the screen to complete your order. Amazon.com will debit your PayPal account for the full amount of the purchase within 24 hours.

Tip

  • Activate your PayPal debit MasterCard prior to using it to pay for your Amazon.com purchase. You can do this by following the directions on the sticker across the front of the card when you first receive it.

Warning

  • If you don't have enough funds in your PayPal account to cover the full amount of your Amazon.com order, PayPal will deduct the difference from your back-up funding source, such as a bank account or credit card.
