Yahoo! Toolbar and Yahoo! Anti-Spy are two separate programs and do not come bundled together as of 2011. You can, however, download and install Yahoo! Toolbar, and then add Yahoo! Anti-Spy for Toolbar as an "app" or toolbar add-on. Downloading Yahoo! Toolbar for Internet Explorer differs slightly from downloading it for Mozilla Firefox. If you use both browsers, download Yahoo! Toolbar through Internet Explorer, as doing so gives you the option to add it to both browsers simultaneously. Finally, adding Anti-Spy to Yahoo! Toolbar is the same no matter which browser you are using.

Installing Yahoo! Toolbar with Anti-Spy on Internet Explorer

Step 1

Go to the Yahoo! Toolbar download page (see "Resources") and click "Download Now."

Step 2

Check or un-check the boxes next to each of the four options to set your homepage to Yahoo!, set Yahoo! as your default search engine and alert you when any program attempts to change the default search engine, install the Yahoo! toolbar to both the Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers, and install the Yahoo! Mail plug-in and make Yahoo! Mail your default email client.

Step 3

Read the "Yahoo! Toolbar Software License and Privacy Policy" and click "I Agree."

Step 4

Select "Yes" or "No" to indicate your willingness to automatically send private usage statistics to Yahoo! Clicking "Yes" will help Yahoo! improve its products, but neither a "Yes" nor a "No" answer will affect your browsing experience in the least.

Step 5

Click "Install" and select "Run." If your computer asks your permission to complete the installation, click "Continue" as many times as necessary. Yahoo! Toolbar is now installed on Internet Explorer (and on Firefox if you selected the option to do so in Step 2).
