Compaq Presario notebooks feature an AMD series processor, an HP Brightview display and an optical drive for burning your digital files to a disc. Use the burning tools built into Windows 7 to copy music, data or documents to a CD or DVD. The Windows tools let you burn a range of file formats without having to purchase third-party burning applications.

Step 1

Insert a blank, writable disc into the optical drive on the Compaq Presario notebook and then wait a few moments for the drive to recognize the disc.

Step 2

Click "Burn files to disc using Windows Explorer" in the "AutoPlay" window that opens.

Step 3

Type a name for the disc in the "Disc Title" field and then click the "With a CD/DVD player" option. Click "Next" to open an empty disc folder.

Step 4

Drag the files you want to burn to the disc into the empty folder. Wait for the files to be completely copied into the folder and then click the "Burn to Disc" button to initiate the burn process.

Step 5

Eject the disc after the burn process is complete.
