The easiest way to block messages is by preventing your carrier from sending them to you.

The Samsung Glyde is a feature-packed cell phone that was released in 2008. It is sold in the United States by Verizon Wireless. Unfortunately, some wireless subscribers are charged for every text they send or receive and may want to block all incoming messages to avoid these charges. Since the Samsung Glyde does not support text message blocking from the phone itself, your only option is to contact Verizon's support staff to block messages on your account. However, you can prevent your phone from downloading picture and video messages (MMS) from within the phone's menus.
Blocking SMS Through Verizon Wireless Support
Step 1
Call Verizon's support team by dialing *611 on your Samsung Glyde.
Step 2
Skip the automated menu and ask to speak with a representative.
Step 3
Tell the support representative that you would like to block all incoming text messages on your line. This process may take a few hours to take effect, but once they do you will not receive or be charged for any more text messages.
Blocking MMS Messages
Step 1
Tap the "Menu" button on the home screen and tap on the "Messaging" icon to open the messaging application.
Step 2
Tap on "Settings" and locate the Pic-Video Auto Retrieve option.
Step 3
Set the option to Off and your phone will no longer download the contents of picture and video messages. Note that you will still be notified when you receive these messages, and depending on your wireless plan you may still be charged for them.
