How to Block Texts to a Cell Phone From the Verizon Wireless Website

If you are getting bothersome text messages from another cell phone and use Verizon Wireless, you can block multiple numbers from sending these text messages to your phone. If you've asked the cell phone owner to cease sending messages and they continue, this will block all incoming communications from the cell phone in question. You can later go back and unblock numbers if you want to in the future.

Step 1

Go to the My Verizon log-in page and log in to your My Verizon online account.

Step 2

Locate the "My Services" heading once logged in and click on the services link. Then click on the "Verizon Safeguards" link.

Step 3

Click on "Spam Controls" followed by "Call and Message Blocking." Enter up to five numbers that you want to block texts from. This will also block incoming calls from the number.

Tip

  • You can block text spam from emails and Internet domains by instead choosing "Internet Spam Controls" and typing in the email address or website domain name that the spam is coming from.
